Giving and generosity
‘Generosity and a deep appreciation for all God has given to us are at the heart of our faith. We serve a generous God who gave His only Son so that we might have life in all its fullness. He longs for us to share this generosity with others.’
St Peter’s has a big vision, to see things ‘in every sphere of Bury as it is in Heaven’ We will see that come about through the praying, serving, and generous giving of all.
Did you know it costs around £5,000 per month to open our church? That’s around £165 per day and just covers our basic bills (gas / electricity / parish share / insurance). We don’t receive any funding from the government or Diocese. In fact we give, through Parish share, to support Manchester Diocese, particularly helping churches in areas of deprivation
Our generous congregation currently give between £10 and £375 per month, thank you all! Your continued generosity enables everything we do regularly:
Engaging with families in faith at Kingdom Play
Running courses like Alpha and The Bereavement Journey, to help people at all stages of life
Engaging weekly with our local primary and secondary schools
Maintaining our 150 year old building, for God and this community
Plus Messy Church, weekly worship, warm space, lunch club, a growing staff team and much more!
There are lots more things we would love to do to bless even more of Bury and enable our Church to become more sustainable for the future generation. That’s why we are asking everyone to consider what they can give towards seeing this come about. Could you start giving regularly? Or review what you’re giving if you set it up a while back?

Cash or Cheque, into the wooden box or bags at church

Gift aid
Don’t forget if you are a tax payer you can give an additional 25% by signing a gift aid declaration (on the giving leaflet, available at church). It doesn’t cost you anything extra, but means we can reclaim tax from HMRC. Last year we reclaimed around £11,000 — it makes such a difference!
