A recycling tip

Choose recyclable wrapping paper and greeting cards, to tread lightly on the earth’s resources, and honour it’s Creator.

When you next buy wrapping paper or greetings cards, try to avoid anything embellished with foil or glitter as this cannot be recycled. Thick and glossy wrapping paper has probably been laminated, which means it can’t be recycled either.

If you receive a wrapped birthday or Christmas present, do the ‘scrunch test’ to check if the wrapping paper can be recycled.

All you do is scrunch the paper up in your hands — if it stays scrunched up, it is paper based and can be recycled in your green recycling bin.

If it gradually “unscrunches”, then unfortunately it needs to go in your black non-recyclable bin.
